Crisp County Man Arrested on Animal Cruelty Charges Following Discovery of Malnourished Dog

On January 6, 2025, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control responded to a report of animal cruelty on 26th Avenue West in Cordele, GA. Upon arrival, Officer Vogel made contact with the dog’s owner, Jesse Blanks, and discovered that the animal, a dog named “Diamond,” was severely malnourished, underweight, and in need of immediate medical care.

Diamond was taken to the Cordele Animal Shelter for treatment, and following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for 27-year-old Jesse Blanks. On January 12, 2025, Best Friends Humane Society transferred Diamond to Thomasville Humane Society for further rescue and care.

Jesse Blanks has been charged with two counts of Cruelty to Animals.
