Man Killed, Another Injured in Talbotton Shooting on Tuck Person Highway
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Talbotton, Talbot County, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
At approximately 2:20 p.m., the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the GBI after responding to reports of a shooting at a residence on Tuck Person Highway.
Preliminary findings indicate that Fazion Terry, 29, of Woodland, GA, and another man were involved in an argument that escalated into gunfire. Both men were shot during the altercation. Terry was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other man was transported by ambulance to a Columbus hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
No arrest(s) have been made at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.

The GBI will conduct an independent investigation. Once the investigation is complete, the file will be given to the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
