Muscogee County Traffic Stop: Armed Felon Tased and Arrested After Reaching for Gun
On January 3, 2025, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Patrol Units conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Honda Accord in the parking lot of a convenience store after observing the vehicle following another car too closely.

When deputies attempted to take him into custody, Murray ignored instructions, climbing from the front seat into the back seat. Deputies used a Taser to subdue Murray, and he was arrested without further incident. He was transported to the Muscogee County Jail and charged with:
- Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property Firearm
- Felony Possession of a Machine Gun
- Obstruction
Murray also faced outstanding felony warrants for:
