Driver Injured in Fiery Crash Through Home in Taliaferro County
A motor vehicle accident occurred early Friday morning, January 3, 2025, at approximately 3:52 a.m. on Sparta Road. Authorities responded after a pickup truck traveling along Hwy 22 left the roadway and crashed into an unoccupied home.
The driver, who holds a South Carolina license, was injured in the crash and became trapped in the vehicle as it caught fire. Deputies arrived at the scene and quickly extricated the driver, who was then transported to a nearby hospital by Wilkes County EMS.
Taliaferro County and Greene County Fire Departments worked quickly to extinguish the fire. The Georgia State Patrol was called to investigate the cause of the accident.
