Duluth Man Charged in Mercedes Dealership Break-In and Theft
Gwinnett County Police detectives have charged Kaderries Johnson, 24, of Duluth, with multiple offenses related to a break-in at a Mercedes Benz dealership and the theft of a vehicle.
Johnson faces three counts of Burglary in the Second Degree, three counts of Loitering and Prowling, three counts of misdemeanor Theft by Taking, and one count of Motor Vehicle Theft.
The incidents began on December 3, when Johnson was seen walking around the dealership attempting to enter the showroom. He entered the service area and took a bottle of water before being spotted by an officer in the parking lot at 2:40 a.m., who warned him about loitering and prowling. Detectives later determined Johnson was likely searching for where car key fobs were stored.
On December 4, Johnson returned to the dealership around 9:30 p.m., pulling on various doors until confronted by employees, prompting him to leave. He returned the following day and was criminally trespassed from the business by Gwinnett Police officers.
Despite the warning, Johnson returned just before midnight on December 7. He gained access to the dealership, stole three key fobs, and drove off in a 2025 Mercedes Benz GLE350 parked outside.
On December 9, detectives learned that Warwick Police had impounded the stolen Mercedes during a traffic stop. At the time, the vehicle had not been reported stolen, and Johnson, who was driving it, was released.
On December 11, Albany Police found Johnson loitering at a Chrysler dealership. He is now in custody at the Dougherty County Jail.
