Bibb County SWAT Rescues Armed Barricaded Suspect from Burning Home
A dramatic rescue unfolded this morning as members of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team and U.S. Marshals pulled an armed suspect from a burning home on Columbus Road.
The incident began when U.S. Marshals attempted to serve a warrant on the suspect, a wanted man from Florida. The man barricaded himself inside the residence, armed with a weapon. As the situation escalated, a fire broke out inside the home.
S.W.A.T. officers and U.S. Marshals acted swiftly, rushing into the burning structure to rescue the barricaded man. The suspect was safely extracted and transported to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
