Hate Crime Suspect Linked to Assaults on Transgenders Arrested in Midtown Atlanta
On December 16, 2024, 28-year-old Michael Boykin was arrested by Atlanta Police in the area of 160 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Midtown Atlanta, following a tip about his whereabouts. Boykin had been linked to multiple assaults on transgender individuals within the city. At the time of his arrest, he was believed to be armed and dangerous, with a firearm in his possession.

Boykin was charged with possession of drug-related objects and had outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, criminal trespass, battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is currently in custody pending further legal proceedings.
