Neighbor’s Tip Leads to Arrest of Suspect in Multiple Barrow County Burglaries

Barrow County Deputies responded to a burglary in progress on December 11, 2024, at a residence located at 2325 Atlanta Hwy SE in Statham, GA, after a vigilant neighbor reported seeing an unknown male entering the home and exiting through a side window.

Upon arrival, deputies deployed a K9 unit to track the suspect, which led them to a nearby residence. During the search, deputies discovered several items believed to have been stolen, located outside the suspect’s home.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Daniel Arellano-Mata of Winder, was found and matched the description provided by the neighbor. Investigators executed a search warrant at his residence and uncovered items linking him to four additional burglaries in the Statham area and Barrow County.

Arellano-Mata was arrested and transported to the Barrow County Detention Center, charged with one count of burglary, with additional charges pending as the investigation continues.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office commended the neighbor’s swift action and the efforts of the deputies, investigators, and K9 unit in resolving the case.
