Driver Shot After Crash and Altercation in Sweet Auburn; Suspects Flee

On December 8, 2024, Atlanta Police Zone 6 officers responded to an aggravated assault call at 12 William H Borders Drive in the Sweet Auburn area. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS and is in stable condition.

Preliminary details suggest that the male lost control of his vehicle, causing a crash involving several other cars on Edgewood Avenue. After exiting the vehicle, the driver and his passenger became involved in a physical altercation with multiple males, during which the driver was shot. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
