DeKalb County Firefighters Rescue Two from Burning Home in Candler-McAfee

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, at approximately 5:00 AM, DeKalb County Fire Rescue crews responded to a residential structure fire on Cindy Drive in Candler-McAfee, Georgia, following reports of multiple people trapped inside.

Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke filling the home and flames contained to a single bedroom. Crews executed a Vent, Enter, Search (VES) operation, successfully rescuing two unconscious victims from the residence.

The victims were transported to a nearby hospital and are expected to recover fully. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
