South Carolina Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested in Gwinnett After High-Speed Chase
On November 27, Gwinnett County police officers arrested Emmanuel Onious Williams, a 20-year-old suspect from Seneca, South Carolina, wanted for three counts of attempted murder.
At approximately 6 p.m., Seneca dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at the apartment complex. Responding officers discovered four victims at the scene, including two adults, an 11-year-old child, and a 1-year-old. Three of the victims were airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Although the 11-year-old was shot at, the child was not injured. Officials later described the shooting as “domestic-related.”
After the shooting, Williams fled the scene in a stolen vehicle belonging to one of the victims
The Seneca Police Department alerted Gwinnett authorities about Williams, who was believed to be traveling to the area in a black SUV. Utilizing intelligence and Flock cameras, officers located the vehicle at Sugarloaf Parkway and North Brown Road. As Williams exited a nearby business, a Gwinnett officer attempted a traffic stop. Williams refused to comply, crossing multiple lanes of traffic and initiating a high-speed chase that reached 80 mph.
The pursuit ended at the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway and Duluth Highway, where officers attempted a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver. An officer struck the rear driver’s side of Williams’ vehicle, causing him to lose control. Williams was promptly apprehended and transported to a hospital for evaluation before being booked into the Gwinnett County Jail.
