Meth Lab Bust in Lawrenceville Uncovers Drugs, Guns, and Cash; Suspect Arrested
On November 26, 2024, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Section (SIS) executed a search warrant at 1620 Purcell Rd, Lot #35, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The operation led to the arrest of Martin Guzman-Beltran and the discovery of a methamphetamine laboratory, along with significant quantities of illegal drugs, firearms, and cash.
Authorities seized the following:
- Methamphetamine: Nearly 72 kilograms
- Heroin: Almost 2 kilograms
- Fentanyl: 256 grams
- Illegal Firearms: Four
- Cash: Over $61,000
Beltran is currently detained at the Gwinnett County Detention Center, facing multiple felony charges, including Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Heroin, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, and Possession of Firearms during the Commission of a Felony.
Chief Cleophas Atwater commended the meticulous work of the Special Investigations Section, emphasizing the office’s commitment to combating gang activity and protecting the community from illegal substances.
Major Darryl Nelson, Commander of the SIS, stated, “Our goal is to keep cartels out of Gwinnett County, thereby protecting our community from the danger of illegal drugs.”
The successful operation was supported by multiple agencies, including the DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, Lilburn Police Department, and the Gwinnett Metro Task Force.
