19-Year-Old Arrested in Fatal South Atlanta Carjacking of Elderly Man

On Saturday, November 30, 2024, Atlanta Police arrested 19-year-old Jaylen Mosely and charged him with Murder following a deadly carjacking incident. Mosely was transported to the Fulton County Jail without incident.

The original incident occurred earlier that evening at approximately 6:40 p.m. when Atlanta Police Zone 3 officers responded to a shooting report at 2151 Metropolitan Parkway SW in South Atlanta. Upon arrival, officers found a 70-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigations indicate the man was shot during a carjacking.

Investigators quickly identified Mosely as the suspect and located him, leading to his arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
