Head-On Collision in Lawrenceville Claims One Life, Alcohol Suspected

The Lawrenceville Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) is investigating a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred on the evening of November 27, 2024, near Buford Drive and Hurricane Shoals Road.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the scene following multiple 911 calls. Preliminary findings indicate that a vehicle traveling north on Buford Drive crossed into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Nissan Rogue.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the at-fault vehicle and several occupants were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators suspect alcohol played a role in the crash, and charges are pending. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until their next of kin has been notified.
