Teen Arrested for September Murder of 23-Year-Old in Macon
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators, with the assistance of the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, have arrested a man wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Dontavious Ryshaun Holsey. The incident occurred on September 30, 2024, on Wallace Road near the intersection of Johnson Road.
At approximately 7:17 p.m. on the day of the incident, the Macon-Bibb Emergency-911 Center received a call reporting a shooting. Deputies arrived to find Holsey, unresponsive with a gunshot wound, and a 17-year-old male victim also suffering from gunshot injuries. Paramedics transported both victims to a medical facility, where Holsey was later pronounced dead. The 17-year-old victim survived and was reported to be in stable condition.
Through subsequent investigation, authorities identified 18-year-old Devin DeLoach as a suspect. Warrants for his arrest were issued, and DeLoach was located and arrested at a residence in Jones County on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. He was taken into custody without incident.
DeLoach is currently being held without bond at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, facing charges of Murder.
