Toccoa Man Charged with Malice Murder in Death of Ex-Partner
Corey Bryant

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested 36-year-old Corey Bryant of Toccoa, Georgia, on Monday, November 25, 2024, in connection with the death of 42-year-old Angela Baker. Bryant has been charged with malice murder.

On Friday, November 22, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Toccoa Police Department called the GBI to assist with a death investigation after Baker’s body was discovered by family members at her home on East Franklin Street. Shortly after the discovery, Bryant was located and arrested on unrelated charges stemming from a fight earlier that day. During the investigation, evidence linked Bryant to the homicide, leading to his murder charge.

Bryant and Baker had previously been in a relationship, and the investigation into Baker’s death remains ongoing.

Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Cleveland at 706-348-4866 or the GBI Tipline at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477). The case file will be submitted to the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney for prosecution once the investigation concludes.
