Man Fatally Shot Inside Decatur Home; Suspect Arrested

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Decatur Police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 200 block of Feld Avenue at approximately 5:55 p.m.

Officers discovered an adult male resident suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.

Police arrested 40-year-old Demetrius Roberson, also of Decatur, at the scene. He was booked into the DeKalb County Jail on charges of malice murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities believe the victim and the suspect were known to each other. The Decatur Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
