Two Shot in Vine City, Including Teen with Neck Injury; Investigation Ongoing
On November 20, 2024, at approximately 7:55 p.m., officers responded to Grady Memorial Hospital regarding a reported shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers located a 26-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm. The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing while being treated by medical staff.
Preliminary investigations suggest the injury occurred near 803 Magnolia Way NW, with the victim self-transporting to the hospital for medical attention.
During the investigation, hospital staff alerted officers to another shooting victim who had also arrived via self-transport. The second victim, a 16-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. Authorities believe his injury also originated from the area near 803 Magnolia Way NW in the Vine City neighborhood.
Investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to gather evidence and determine the circumstances of the shooting.
