Suspect Arrested for Stealing Toilet Components from Lavonia Hospital Restrooms
Philip Alexander, 38, of Cornelia, GA, was arrested this week after Lavonia Police Department officers linked him to a series of thefts at Saint Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital. Over several days, various toilet components were reported missing from restrooms throughout the hospital.
With the assistance of hospital staff, officers identified Alexander as a suspect. Upon searching Alexander and his vehicle, officers recovered the stolen restroom components along with tools believed to have been used in the thefts. Additionally, Alexander was found in possession of financial transaction cards that did not belong to him, as well as suspected methamphetamine.
Alexander was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Franklin County Detention Center. Lavonia PD praised Officer Ezra Segars, Officer Jonathan Merck, and Investigator Brian Neal for their prompt and effective work in resolving the case.
