Early Morning Blaze Engulfs Structures and Vehicles in White County
In the early hours of November 7, 2024, a fire erupted at a property in the 500 block of Eagle Rock Road in Cleveland, Georgia. White County 911 received a call at 2:01 a.m. from a resident reporting a nearby structure fire. White County Fire Services, EMS, and Cleveland Fire Department were dispatched, and shortly after, the property owner called in, reporting that a shed and water shed on the property were fully ablaze.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the shed, water shed, and a nearby camper fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to nearby vegetation and vehicles. Crews confirmed that no individuals were inside the structures and focused on containing the fire. Fire personnel from Lee Arrendale Correctional Institute (LACI) Fire Service provided mutual aid support.
White County Emergency Management deployed resources, including a Rehabilitation Unit for firefighter recovery and UAS1, a drone with thermal imaging, to monitor for potential flare-ups in surrounding vegetation. Firefighters remained on-site throughout the morning to fully extinguish hotspots.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
