Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested After Threatening to Shoot Victim in Atlanta

On October 24, 2024, Atlanta Police officers responded to an armed robbery report at 2625 Piedmont Rd. NE. The victim told police that a suspect had held them at gunpoint, threatening to shoot if they did not comply. After taking valuables, the suspects fled the scene.

A description of the suspect vehicle was quickly communicated to officers with the Atlanta Police’s A.C.E. (Atlanta Crime Enforcement) Unit, who began an immediate search. A short time later, A.C.E. Unit officers spotted the vehicle in the vicinity and conducted a traffic stop, taking both suspects into custody without incident.

The driver, 35-year-old Markese Jones, was identified as having a suspended license and was charged with Driving While License Suspended.

The passenger, 35-year-old Abdulla Mack, was taken into custody on multiple serious charges, including armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Police allege Mack was the individual who held the gun to the victim during the robbery, issuing threats to ensure compliance.

Both suspects were transported to the Atlanta City Detention Center following the arrest.
