Three Arrested in Brutal Assault of 71-Year-Old in Ambrose, GA

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Georgia State Patrol arrested Rob Smith, Jr., 55, Dillon Smith, 18, and Carter Holley, 17, all of Ambrose, GA, on charges including Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, and Exploitation of an Elder Person. Holley also faces charges of Terroristic Threats. The charges stem from the assault of a 71-year-old man.

The incident took place on the evening of Monday, November 4, 2024, at the 4200 block of Vickers Crossing Road in Ambrose, GA. According to the GBI, the three men attacked the elderly victim following a dispute over hunting land. The assault involved repeated punches, kicks, and the use of a walking stick.

Rob Smith, Jr., Dillon Smith, and Holley were arrested at their homes without incident and booked into the Coffee County Jail.
