Wrong-Way Collision in Atlanta Leaves One Dead, Driver Facing Charges

Early Tuesday morning, October 29, 2024, Atlanta Police Zone 5 officers responded to a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of 12th St NE and W Peachtree St NW around 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found three individuals inside the vehicle, all of whom were transported to a nearby hospital. Despite emergency medical efforts, a 24-year-old passenger succumbed to her injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the vehicle, driven by a 21-year-old female, had been traveling in the wrong direction on W Peachtree St NW before crashing into a cement construction barrier. The driver has been charged in connection with the incident and was taken to Fulton County Jail. Investigators remain on the scene to determine further details regarding the circumstances of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
