Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport Launches Small Business Program to Boost Concessions
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the busiest airport in the world, has introduced its Concessions Small Business Program, a new initiative approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on October 16, designed to empower small businesses to operate within the airport. The program includes an educational academy set to launch in February 2024, where selected participants will attend workshops and panels on business strategies tailored for airport operations and navigating Atlanta’s business landscape.
“Our Concessions Small Business Program is a commitment to economic inclusion, providing a platform for local entrepreneurs to grow in one of the world’s most dynamic environments,” said ATL Interim General Manager Jan Lennon. “This effort aligns with Mayor Andre Dickens’ initiatives for small business growth across Atlanta.”
The academy’s first class will graduate during National Small Business Week, May 4-10, 2025, equipping participants to submit proposals and compete for concession spaces within ATL and other airports. On May 8, 2025, ATL will issue its first Request for Qualifications (RFQ) under the program to identify qualified small businesses eligible for leasing opportunities, which will include in-line spaces and kiosks within the airport.
Information about the program and application details will be available on ATL’s website in December 2024. For additional inquiries, the ATL Concessions team can be reached at concessions-submittal@atl.com.
