Georgia Access Prepares for Open Enrollment with New Consumer Options and Over 15,000 Certified Agents

Georgia Access, the state’s new health insurance exchange, announced today that it is prepared for the upcoming Open Enrollment period, backed by a network of more than 15,000 licensed agents ready to assist consumers with health coverage options. Open Enrollment for 2025 coverage will begin on November 1, allowing residents to shop for and enroll in affordable health plans through Georgia Access or Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) partners.

“Georgia Access is pleased that more than 15,000 licensed and certified agents will be available to help residents find the best coverage options to meet their unique needs and budgets,” said Cheryl Gardner, Executive Director of Georgia Access. This roster of agents offers localized assistance, contributing to Georgia Access’s goal of reducing the uninsured population statewide.

Starting October 28, residents can preview 2025 health insurance plans and compare costs at GeorgiaAccess.gov. Insurance Commissioner John F. King highlighted the benefits of the preview feature, saying it gives consumers a head start to browse plans that fit their needs and budgets.

As the first state-based exchange with a “no-wrong door” approach, Georgia Access enables residents to select coverage through certified agents, EDE partners like web brokers or insurance companies, or directly on the Georgia Access portal. Plan options include Qualified Health Plans, Stand-alone Dental Plans, and Catastrophic Health Plans tailored to a range of consumer needs.

For those who enroll by December 16, 2024, coverage will commence on January 1, 2025. Additional details are available at GeorgiaAccess.gov or via the Georgia Access Contact Center at 888-687-1503, TTY 711.
