ACCPD Investigates Suspicious Death After Injured Person Found on Trail Creek Trail
On October 19, 2024, at approximately 9:00 AM, Athens-Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD) officers responded to a call about an injured person on Trail Creek Trail near Oak Ridge Avenue and Vine Street. Officers found a 48-year-old male at the scene, who was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
ACCPD detectives are investigating the incident as a suspicious death but do not believe there is any threat to the public.
