Columbus Police Arrest Driver in Hit-and-Run Thanks to Real-Time Crime Center

On October 1, 2024, Columbus Police responded to a 911 call regarding a hit-and-run at the intersection of Cusseta Road and 23rd Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the victim lying in the roadway with serious injuries and unable to communicate. With little evidence and no eyewitnesses at the scene, the Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) quickly intervened.

RTCC accessed nearby camera footage, identifying the suspect vehicle within minutes. This critical information was relayed to officers, who soon located the damaged vehicle. The driver, Anthony Anderson, was found at Piedmont Columbus Regional and arrested.

Anderson has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Injury, a felony. The rapid response and support from the RTCC enabled officers to solve the case and apprehend the suspect within an hour of the incident.
