Two Chatham County Men Plead Guilty in Armed Carjacking; Third Suspect Remains at Large
Wanted: Graylyn Simmons

Brandon McCall Williams, a/k/a “Doughboy,” 33, and Robert Moss, a/k/a “Fat Boy,” 33, both of Savannah, Georgia, are awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an armed carjacking in October 2021. Meanwhile, investigators are searching for a third defendant in the case. Williams could face up to 65 years in federal prison, and Moss up to 10 years.

“This violent crime exemplifies the dangers of drugs, guns, and gangs to our communities,” said U.S. Attorney Jill E. Steinberg. “Our law enforcement partners need the public’s assistance in apprehending the fugitive in this case, and delivering justice for the wounded victim.”

According to court documents and testimony, the two men, along with another individual, Graylyn Simmons, a/k/a “Shake,” 28, met a drug dealer, M.M., in a Savannah apartment complex parking lot to purchase large amounts of methamphetamine and heroin. Instead of completing the transaction, the three suspects robbed M.M. at gunpoint, stealing his bag containing drugs, cash, and a firearm. As M.M. attempted to escape, he was shot in the buttocks.

The suspects then stole M.M.’s vehicle, leaving behind a pickup truck rented by Williams. Later, authorities recovered Williams’ personal vehicle after a brief car chase. The bag of drugs was found in the vehicle. Williams and Moss were eventually located and taken into custody.

Simmons remains at large, and authorities urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the FBI at 800-225-5324.

“Williams and Moss participated in a violent act to profit off illegal drugs,” said FBI Atlanta Assistant Special Agent in Charge Brian Ozden. “We work alongside our federal, state, and local partners to work hand in hand to disrupt and ultimately triumph over the shadow of drug trafficking, making our communities safer places to live.”

“This investigation showcases the unwavering commitment of law enforcement to rid our streets of violent offenders,” said Beau Kolodka, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Atlanta Field Office. “Through close collaboration and relentless pursuit, we will continue to dismantle criminal networks and protect the citizens of Savannah from those who seek to bring chaos and violence.”

The case is being investigated by the FBI, ATF, and the Savannah Police Department. Sentencing for Williams and Moss will be scheduled following the completion of presentence investigations by U.S. Probation Services.
