Atlanta Man Arrested By Clayton County Police After Foot Chase, Gun Found with Blood Nearby
In the early hours of October 3, 2024, Clayton County Police officers responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 1500 block of Pine Drive in Atlanta. Officer Parks arrived at the scene around 12:40 a.m. and observed four males in a breezeway. Upon making contact, two of the males fled on foot. Officer Parks pursued one suspect carrying a black book bag but lost sight of him after the suspect ran through a wooded area into a nearby complex.
A perimeter was established, and during the search, Officer Parks located the dropped book bag. Nearby, officers also discovered a gun with blood on it. A K9 unit was brought in to assist, and the suspect was eventually apprehended. He had sustained injuries from a barbed wire fence while fleeing.
Upon inspection of the book bag, officers found a scale, psychedelic mushroom, marijuana, packaging materials, a 9mm handgun, and the suspect’s ID. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Isaiah Harris, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including obstruction, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession with intent to distribute.
