Macon Man Arrested in Connection with Armed Robberies Across Evans and Tattnall Counties
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged 32-year-old Deonte Rashavius Miller of Macon, Georgia, with multiple offenses, including Armed Robbery, Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. These charges stem from a series of armed robberies that took place in Evans and Tattnall Counties.
On September 17, 2024, the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI assistance to investigate an armed robbery at a residence in Tattnall County. The following day, the Evans County Sheriff’s Office also sought GBI’s help in connection with a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Claxton Poultry. Investigators quickly suspected a link between the two incidents.
The investigation revealed that on September 16, 2024, two separate robberies targeted women who had visited the Xpress Food Mart-Chevron Gas Station on South Duval Street in Claxton. One victim was followed to her home in Tattnall County, where she was robbed at gunpoint, while the other was pursued to her workplace and robbed in the parking lot.
Through their investigation, GBI agents identified Miller as a suspect in both robberies. He has since been booked into the Tattnall County Jail.
The GBI’s investigation was supported by the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office and the Evans County Sheriff’s Office. Upon completion of the investigation, the case file will be forwarded to the Atlantic Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
