Woman Arrested for DUI After Crash Near Mercer University Drive

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) deputies were observing traffic at the intersection of Mercer University Drive and Burton Avenue when they were flagged down to investigate a nearby accident.

During the investigation, the female driver involved in the crash began to show signs of impairment. A deputy from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) Unit responded to the scene to conduct field sobriety tests. After the driver failed the tests, she was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

Further checks revealed that her vehicle’s registration was expired, adding to the charges against her.
