Teen Arrested After High-Speed Four-Wheeler Chase Ends in Crash in Macon

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit deputies recently took an 18-year-old male into custody following a four-wheeler pursuit that ended with the driver crashing into a patrol unit. The incident began when deputies observed the teenager riding an ATV on Houston Avenue and attempted a traffic stop. The driver, who had a passenger on the back, accelerated to speeds of 60 mph without wearing a helmet, driving on the wrong side of the road, through several streets, and across backyards.

The pursuit ended when the teen crashed the four-wheeler into a deputy’s patrol vehicle. After a brief foot chase, the driver was apprehended. The ATV was confirmed to have been reported stolen and has since been returned to its owner. The passenger remains at large. The teenager was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.
