Dekalb County School Teacher Arrested by Gwinnett County SVU for Child Molestation and Enticing

Gwinnett County Police Officers arrested a Dekalb County School teacher for multiple crimes against a child.

On September 3, 2024, detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit were alerted about a possible adult male having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old child. The victim’s mother discovered sexually explicit conversations between her child and an unknown male and contacted 911. Detectives were able to pose as the 14-year-old child and plan a meeting with the suspected adult male. 49-year-old Marcus A. Knight of Lawrenceville arrived at the meeting location and was taken into custody without incident. During his arrest, Knight was in possession of multiple high-level THC vape cartridges.

Knight is a teacher at Stone Mountain Middle School.

Knight was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail, where he is being held without bond and is charged with aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and obscene internet contact with a child. Additional charges might be forthcoming pending further investigation. The victim in this case was not a student of Marcus Knight.
