Bibb County Deputies Arrest Two Teens in Stolen Vehicle Pursuit
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit deputies took an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old into custody following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle on September 10, 2024. Deputies first spotted a stolen Toyota Camry on West Grenada Terrace as the driver turned onto Houston Avenue. When the driver slowed down, two males exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
The 16-year-old, who remained in the Camry, continued the chase, reaching speeds of up to 90 mph, driving on the wrong side of the road, cutting through a gas station, and running a red light. The teen lost control of the vehicle in oncoming traffic but managed to regain control before stopping, where he was arrested.
The 18-year-old, who had jumped out of the Camry, was arrested and charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers. The 16-year-old was found in possession of 21 counterfeit $20 bills and faces charges of Fleeing and Eluding, Theft by Taking Auto, Forgery 2nd Degree (21 counts), and Reckless Driving.
