Former Toombs County Teacher Arrested for Improper Sexual Relationship with Student
A former Toombs County teacher is in custody on criminal charges following a GBI investigation. On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, GBI agents arrested Chasity Cheyenne Knight, 25, of Uvalda, Georgia, and charged her with one count of Improper Sexual Contact by Employee, Agent, or Foster Parent; Consent Not a Defense. The investigation revealed that Knight engaged in a sexual relationship with a student in January 2024 while employed as a teacher.
On August 19, 2024, the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI’s assistance in investigating potential sexual abuse involving a teacher and students within the Toombs County School District.
Knight was booked into the Toombs County Detention Center.
