Hall County Middle School Student Arrested for Threats

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has taken a 13-year-old student into custody following a threatening incident at World Language Academy Middle School on Friday, September 6.

Around 10:30 a.m., the student reportedly told his classmates he “was going to be the next school shooter” and claimed to have a “mag” in his backpack. School administrators were immediately called to the scene, where they conducted a search of the student and his belongings. No weapons were found during the search.

The HCSO school resource officer on duty arrested the student, charging him with felony terroristic threats and disruption of a public school. The student’s parents were informed of the situation, and he was transported to the Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) in Gainesville.
