Roswell Police Shoot Suspect Who Charged at Officers After Attempting to Stab Bus Driver

The Roswell Police Department is on scene of an officer-involved shooting near 10900 Alpharetta Hwy. An adult male was shot during the incident. No officers were injured.

Preliminary information reveals that the suspect, armed with an edged weapon, attempted to stab a Marta bus driver before fleeing the scene. When officers located the suspect, he charged at them with the weapon, leading at least one officer to discharge their firearm, striking the suspect. He has been transported to an area hospital; his condition is currently unknown.

Alpharetta Hwy will be closed between Houze Way and Mansell Rd. for the next several hours. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to conduct an independent investigation, in line with department policy.
