Man Wanted After Fleeing Lawrenceville Traffic Stop Over Tint Violation
On June 16, 2024, a Lawrenceville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 black BMW 528I for a window tint violation. The officer informed the driver of the reason for the stop and requested his driver’s license. The driver acknowledged the tint violation and mentioned that he had been pulled over for the same reason a week earlier. According to Georgia law, a vehicle’s window tint must allow at least 32% of light to pass through.
After checking the driver’s information, the officer returned to speak with him and requested that he step out of the vehicle due to the odor of marijuana. The driver refused to exit the car and then fled the scene. Since the officer already had the driver’s identification, including his driver’s license, he chose not to pursue the vehicle. Instead, the officer obtained three warrants for the driver’s arrest.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Rikardo Louis, is now wanted by the Lawrenceville Police Department. He faces charges of fleeing to elude a police officer, window tint violation, and obstruction.
