Fugitive Apprehended on MARTA Bus After Escape from Grady Detention
On Thursday, August 15, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers from the Atlanta Police Department’s Zone 4 Fugitive Investigation Team (F.I.T.) and MARTA Police Department were alerted that a wanted fugitive was traveling on a MARTA bus near Cascade Road SW.
The Zone 4 Day Watch Officers pinpointed the exact location of the bus and successfully stopped it to apprehend the suspect. Upon boarding the bus, officers identified and arrested Randy Baugh.
Baugh, who had been wanted since his escape from Grady Detention in November 2023, was initially arrested in 2023 for two cold case sex crimes committed in 1986 and 1988. He was on the Atlanta Police Department’s Top 10 Most Wanted list until his recent capture.
Randy Baugh remains in custody at Grady Detention.
