14-year-old Carjacking Suspect Apprehended in DeKalb County

On August 2, 2024, the DeKalb County Police Department responded to a carjacking at the QuikTrip located at 7170 Covington Hwy in Lithonia. The victim’s vehicle was stolen at gunpoint while they were fueling up. Despite a search for the vehicle, police were unable to locate it at the time.

On Friday August 16th, officers found the stolen vehicle on the road and managed to bring it to a stop. A 14-year-old suspect was arrested without incident. The juvenile has been charged with Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault.
