20-Year-Old Byron Man Shot and Killed in Warner Robins Officer-Involved Shooting

At the request of the Warner Robins Police Department, agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Warner Robins, GA. The incident resulted in the death of Mikhal Anthony Concepcion, 20, of Byron, Peach County, GA. No officers were injured during the confrontation.

On Monday, August 12, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Warner Robins Police Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of N. Sixth St., Warner Robins, Houston County, GA, following reports of a man with a gun. Upon arrival, officers encountered Concepcion, who fired at the officers and into a nearby home while attempting to force entry into the residence. Officers responded by shooting at Concepcion, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Concepcion’s body will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Upon completion, the case file will be forwarded to the Houston County District Attorney’s Office for review.
