Clayton County Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Child Porn Online Distribution

Clayton County District Attorney Tasha M. Mosley announces the conviction of Laine Antoine Mullins. A Clayton County jury rendered a verdict of guilty for all 4 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children the Defendant was charged with.

Mullins’s charges stemmed from him illegally distributing child pornography over the internet while living in Clayton County, Georgia in 2021.

During the trial, the State presented evidence showing that around January 10, 2021, Mullins was flagged by Kik, a social medial platform, as potentially distributing child pornography/child sexual abuse material. There were multiple alerts over the course of multiple days showing the Mullins sent videos of child pornography on Kik to both private users and in group user chats. Kik reported these violations to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and they reached out to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations since it was determined the content was distributed in Georgia. GBI Lead Investigator Bigham was assigned to the case and utilized her many years of expertise and training to track down Mullins using an IP address from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children report.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Jill L. Hartsfield led the State’s case with Assistant District Attorney Madison Zgonc serving as second chair. Major Case Investigator Khalil Rajhan played a vital role in the investigation and preparation of this case for prosecution. The trial began on Monday, July 15, 2024, and concluded Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Clayton County Chief Judge Robert L. Mack presided over the trial and sentenced Mullins to 20 years in confinement followed by 60 years on probation.

District Attorney Mosley stated, “This conviction serves as a stark reminder of the vigilance required to protect our most vulnerable members. We must remain united and proactive in our efforts to combat such heinous acts.”
