Body of Missing 66-Year-Old Found Outside Albany Apartments, Police Need Help Locating Family Members

The Albany Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in obtaining additional information about 66-year-old Jevore Smitty, who was previously reported missing. Smitty was approximately 5’8” tall, weighed about 150 pounds, and had salt and pepper hair and brown eyes.

On August 6th, a city employee discovered a body wrapped in a blanket outside The Cottages apartments on Flint Avenue. The body was later identified as Smitty. According to officials, the body had been exposed to the heat for an extended period and was already decomposing. The Albany Police Department has stated that foul play is not suspected at this time.
