Single-Vehicle Accident Claims Life of Athens Man

On July 31st, at approximately 9:04 AM, Athens-Clarke County Police responded to the 400 block of Fowler Drive to a single-vehicle accident involving a 2005 Toyota Tundra that had struck a tree. Arriving officers located an unresponsive driver and began life-saving efforts. The driver, Gustavo Guerra Martinez, 40, of Athens, GA, was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
