Atlanta 71-Year-Old Man Shot Following Dispute on Oakside Drive, Suspect Detained
On July 30, 2024, at approximately 5:04 p.m., officers from Atlanta Police Zone 4 responded to a report of a person shot at 507 Oakside Dr. SW. Upon arrival, officers found a 71-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, who was alert, conscious, and breathing, was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Preliminary investigation suggests that a verbal dispute between known parties escalated into gunfire. A possible suspect was detained in the area. Investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit are working to determine the details of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
