Man Fatally Shot After Confronting Suspects During Vehicle Break-In
On Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, at approximately 2:04 PM, Atlanta Police officers were dispatched to 965 Coleman Street SW in the Pittsburgh area in response to a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 39-year-old male who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The male was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the male may have observed the suspect(s) breaking into a vehicle. When the male confronted the suspect(s), they engaged him in gunfire. Investigators with the Homicide Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
