Fitzgerald Woman Arrested for Cruelty to Children and Murder

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged Kelsey Monaco, age 30, of Fitzgerald, GA, with Cruelty to Children and Felony Murder.

The arrest follows an incident on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, when the Fitzgerald Police Department requested the GBI to investigate the death of a 4-year-old child. According to the investigation, the child left his apartment unsupervised and entered a car. He was later found unresponsive inside the vehicle. The child was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Monaco was subsequently booked into the Ben Hill County Jail.
