Grady Memorial Hospital’s Marcus Trauma Center Reverified as Level I by American College of Surgeons
Grady Memorial Hospital’s Marcus Trauma Center has achieved reverification as a Level I trauma center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). This recognition confirms Grady’s adherence to ACS standards, highlighting its role in delivering critical care to patients with traumatic injuries.
As Atlanta’s sole Level I trauma center, Grady reaffirms its status among the nation’s top public academic healthcare systems.
“This reverification is a testament to our team of physicians, nurses, and support staff who deliver the highest levels of care to the patients we serve every day,” said Dr. Elizabeth Benjamin, trauma medical director at Grady. “It also underscores what we have known for a long time – Grady’s trauma care is second to none.”
The ACS reverification underscores Grady’s capability to offer comprehensive trauma care around the clock, ensuring all injured patients receive necessary resources from initial response to rehabilitation. Grady’s Marcus Trauma Center remains one of the busiest in the country, handling over 13,500 trauma cases in 2023.
