Man Arrested After Attempted Car Break-In and Police Chase in Brunswick

On June 27, 2024, Glynn County Police arrested Tyrell Staton, 19, of Brunswick, after he allegedly attempted to break into a car on Habersham Street in Brunswick. According to police, a witness called to report the incident, prompting Officer Shane Nolen to respond. Upon arrival, Officer Nolen spotted Staton matching the suspect’s description, who then fled. After a pursuit on foot, Officer Nolen used a Taser to apprehend Staton.

Staton was taken to the hospital for clearance before being questioned at GCPD, where he reportedly admitted to the crime. He was subsequently charged with Entering an Auto and Obstruction, and later transported to Glynn County Detention Center.
