Fatal Crash in Atlanta Leaves One Dead, Several Injured

Late Saturday night, June 22nd, Atlanta Police responded to a serious vehicle collision at the intersection of Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. NW & North Ave. NW. The incident involved a Ford Edge and a Volkswagen Jetta.

Authorities arrived to find the aftermath of a collision between the two vehicles. The driver of the Ford Edge, a 33-year-old woman, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Tragically, a 31-year-old male passenger in the Ford Edge was pronounced dead at the scene by medical responders.

The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta, also 31 years old, suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the Ford Edge was traveling west on North Ave. NW and attempted a left turn onto Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. NW, pausing in the intersection where it was struck by the northbound Volkswagen Jetta.

Atlanta Police’s Accident Investigations Unit is continuing to probe the details surrounding the collision.
